Description
Martin DC-X2E Rosewood Guitar
We took the DCX1RAE and reimagined it. The result is the DC-X2E Rosewood. This Dreadnought sized model features a cutaway body with a Sitka spruce top and figured rosewood pattern high-pressure laminate (HPL) back and sides. New mother-of-pearl pattern inlay on the rosette and fingerboard lend a richness to the DC-X2E Rosewood making it as impressive to look at as it is to play. With a Performing Artist neck, fingerboard, and bridge of select hardwood, the sound transfer of this model has been greatly improved. It is equipped with Fishman® MX electronics and strung with Martin’s Authentic Acoustic Lifespan® 2.0 strings. With a new, soft gig bag featuring headstock, bridge, and endpin protectors, a durable water-repellent exterior, and foam padding, this model is ready to go anywhere.
“There is nothing more important than the quality of the sound and tone of our instruments,” said CEO and Chairman Chris Martin IV. “This is why Martin Guitar has been utilizing machines for almost a decade on all of our instruments, to provide guitar players with unparalleled craftsmanship and playability.”
For 183 years, Martin Guitar has been at the forefront of guitar innovation, responsible guitar building practices and premier craftsmanship, bringing to its consumers the best acoustic guitars in the world.
Next to the iconic Martin tone known worldwide, playability is an important characteristic that sets apart the quality of our guitars. “For 183 years, the Martin Guitar Company has been manufacturing the world’s best acoustic guitars. The Martin tone is legendary and one that we do not take for granted. Playability does not start at the end of the process”, says Fred Greene V.P. Domestic Manufacturing. “The level of expert craftsmanship that goes into every instrument produced in our facilities is perfected through the use of the Plek® machines. Basically, it’s the cherry on top of the sundae.”
Martin Guitar has been Pleking their instruments for close to a decade and we believe this process helps maintain the undeniable Martin guitar sound that is recognizable worldwide. A Martin guitar with optimized playability enhances the tone of our guitars, as it prevents the strings from buzzing on the frets during playing and eliminates intonation problems that may occur due to inaccurate nut height. We want nothing to come between your playability and that iconic Martin tone. This remains our longstanding commitment to all guitar players worldwide.
What is Plek®?
The Plek® Pro has been developed for use in guitar production factories as a tool that not only does precise fret dressing, but also helps with quality control and R&D. This computer controlled device scans and dresses a guitar under actual playing conditions, strung and tuned to pitch or using precise string tension emulation. This is a major breakthrough since the Plek® Pro identifies precisely what needs to be done for perfect fretwork, executes this rapidly, and delivers perfect results on the instrument when strung.
The Plek® Pro speeds up the production process and raises the quality of instruments to an extremely high and consistent level.
